I am a documentary director/shooter known for raw, observational character-driven Australian stories. I absolutely revel in the delight and difficulties of real-world storytelling, taking films from the nascent seed of an idea through concept development and fundraising; to strategic shooting, then into the edit suite where the story is distilled; through sound design, composition and graphics work, and finally overseeing the finishing touches to see the story writ large on the screen! Having recently finished my 7th feature doc, I can firmly say, truth is stranger than fiction and the real world will always trump anything you can make up. It has been a privilege throughout my career to be allowed into the lives of fascinating people and places that others rarely get access to, and I feel huge gratitude to those who have courageously appeared in my films in all their raw humanity.
